Alicante Airport is located nine kilometres to the southeast of the region's capital city in the municipality of Elche. The airport provides a modern and convenient gateway to the Mediterranean coast, annually serving over eight million passengers arriving mainly from the UK, Netherlands and Germany.
All major car rental suppliers at the airport operate in the building's main terminal, each with their individual booths, including Avis, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt. The spanish frim Centauro can also be booked and operate accross the Canary Islands, Balearics, and Costa Blanca. Solmar car hire is another spanish supplier with a desk in the main temrinal, these operate throughout Spain.
A single, three-level terminal building caters for all domestic and international flights. The levels are designated P-1, P0 and P1, with departures on P1 and arrivals on P0.
There are ATM machines on each level of the terminal building, as well as currency exchange booths on levels P0 and P1. There is a post office located on level P-1.
The airport has an excellent selection of cafés, restaurants and bars, and both duty-free and regular shopping outlets are available. Products on offer include: cosmetics, sporting goods, delicatessen goods, clothing, toys, electronics, and there are several other stores with music, press and books available. Four travel agencies and three tour operators have outlets in the airport to aid with any further travel plans, including car hire from Alicante Airport, whether you've made a booking or would like to arrange a hire car.
Limited conference facilities are available at the airport’s IFACH VIP Lounge. Conference facilities must be booked in advance. Contact the airport manager for further information on business facilities (tel: +34(0) 966 919 100). There is only the one VIP lounge, equipped with standard telecommunication facilities.
Those who require special assistance or wheelchairs should notify their airlines when booking their flight. Specially fitted toilets, ramps and lifts are located across the airport. Specially designated parking areas are available in the car park opposite the terminal. Automatic Car Hire from Alicante Airport is available through us.
Airport information is provided on levels P0 and P1 of the terminal building, and there is a tourist information booth on level P-1. They will also provide car hire information, or point you in the right direction.
To & From
Situated just nine kilometres from Alicante city centre, Alicante Airport is easily accessed by both private and public transportation.
The main road accesses are the N-340 and N-332 national motorways. The distance from Alicante city centre to the access road of the airport is eight kilometres in both cases, and the journey takes approximately fifteen minutes, thirty minutes in rush hour.
Buses to Alicante leave from opposite the terminal building every hour, while buses to Benidorm leave from outside the terminal building four times per day. Buses to Murcia depart from outside the terminal building four times each weekday and twice on Saturdays and Sundays. Current timetables are available from the information desk on Level P0.
Taxis are available from outside the terminal building 24 hours a day and run to central Alicante and other locations along the coast.
There are two car parks, with the main one located directly opposite the terminal building and suitable for short-term parking. Long-term parking is provided by a second car park located to the right of the terminal building. There is a pick-up and drop-off area right outside the terminal entrance, and assistance is available for the mobility impaired.
